Grievance Redressal Policy
Last updated July 31, 2026
In short. If something on OrbitSub is unlawful, breaks our rules, or infringes your rights — or if you have a concern about your personal data — contact our Grievance Officer at team@orbitsub.com. We acknowledge every complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days.
OrbitSub, operated by KARAN (“we”), hosts content created by its users and acts as an intermediary. This Grievance Redressal Policy is published in accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”). It explains how to raise a grievance and what we will do about it.
1. Grievance Officer
In compliance with the IT Rules 2021 and the DPDP Act, our designated Grievance Officer is:
- Name: KARAN
- Designation: Grievance Officer, OrbitSub
- Email: team@orbitsub.com
The Grievance Officer is responsible for receiving and resolving complaints about content, conduct, and personal-data handling on the Service.
2. What you can raise a grievance about
You can contact us about, among other things:
- content you believe is unlawful under Indian law;
- content that infringes your intellectual property (copyright, trademark) — see also our Copyright Policy;
- content that is defamatory, harassing, obscene, or invasive of privacy;
- impersonation of you or your organisation;
- violations of our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines;
- concerns about how your personal data is collected or used under the DPDP Act;
- any decision we made to remove, restrict, or retain content or an account that you wish to appeal.
3. How to submit a grievance
Email the Grievance Officer at team@orbitsub.com. To help us act quickly, please include:
- a link to the specific research, comment, profile, or account, or a clear description of the data concern;
- what right or rule you believe is affected, and why;
- your name and contact details;
- for intellectual-property claims, your relationship to the rights holder and a statement that your complaint is made in good faith;
- any supporting evidence (screenshots, documents, references).
Complaints must be made in good faith. Knowingly false or abusive complaints may themselves be treated as a violation of our Terms.
4. Our timelines
In line with the IT Rules 2021, we commit to the following:
- Acknowledgement within 24 hours of receiving your complaint;
- Resolution within 15 days of receipt, and we will inform you of the outcome;
- Within 72 hours for expedited categories the Rules identify — in particular, requests to remove content that exposes a person in a sexual act, nudity, impersonation, or artificially morphed images of a private individual — on receipt of a valid complaint from the affected person or someone acting on their behalf;
- where a complaint requires more information from you, our timeline runs from when you provide it.
5. What we may do
After reviewing a valid grievance, we may, depending on the circumstances and the law:
- remove or restrict access to the content;
- warn, suspend, or terminate the account responsible;
- correct, restrict, or delete personal data where a data grievance is upheld;
- explain why no action was taken, if the content or conduct does not violate our rules or the law;
- preserve information where we are legally required to do so.
We act as an intermediary and are not obliged to monitor all content proactively, but we act on valid complaints and legal notices as the law requires. Acting on a complaint is not an admission of liability.
6. Reporting from inside the product
The fastest route for content issues is the Report option available on any research, comment, or profile. In-product reports land in the same moderation queue as emailed grievances and are treated with the same seriousness and timelines.
7. Appeals
If we take action on your content or account and you believe it was a mistake, you may appeal by emailing team@orbitsub.com with the details. We will review the decision and respond. Our content-moderation approach is described in our Content Moderation Policy.
8. Escalation for data-protection grievances
For grievances about your personal data under the DPDP Act, the same channel above applies and the Grievance Officer will respond. If you are not satisfied with our resolution, you have the right to escalate your complaint to the Data Protection Board of India, as provided under the DPDP Act.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version, and the “Last updated” date, will always be shown on this page.
