Community Guidelines

OrbitSub is a place to research and write together. These Community Guidelines set out what is and is not allowed everywhere on the Service: in research, Live Rooms, suggestions, comments, communities, profiles and direct messages. They form part of our Terms of Service.

Discussing difficult subjects is part of research. These Guidelines do not prevent the serious, good-faith study, analysis or reporting of sensitive topics. They prohibit using the Service to cause harm.

1. Treat people with respect

  1. Do not harass, bully, threaten, intimidate, stalk or humiliate anyone, and do not encourage others to.
  2. Do not attack people on the basis of religion, caste, race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or any other protected characteristic, or promote enmity between groups.
  3. Disagree with ideas, not people. Criticism of research is welcome; personal abuse is not.
  4. Do not threaten or glorify violence against any person or group.

2. Keep research honest

  1. Do not fabricate or falsify data, results, sources, quotations or citations.
  2. Do not plagiarise. Credit the ideas, words and work of others, and cite your sources.
  3. Do not knowingly publish false or misleading information intended to deceive, or present speculation as established fact.
  4. Do not misrepresent who you are, your qualifications, your affiliations or your role in a piece of work.
  5. Disclose your use of AI tools where the rules that apply to you require it, and never present unverified AI output as verified fact.
  6. Declare any conflict of interest that a reasonable reader would want to know about.

3. Keep people safe

  1. Children. We have zero tolerance for any content that sexualises minors. We remove it, terminate the accounts involved and report them to the relevant authorities.
  2. Sexual content. Do not post pornographic or sexually explicit content, or intimate images of anyone without their consent.
  3. Self-harm. Do not promote or encourage suicide, self-harm or eating disorders. If you are struggling, please reach out to someone you trust; in India you can call Tele-MANAS on 14416 at any time.
  4. Dangerous activities. Do not share instructions for making weapons, explosives or dangerous substances, or for committing crimes.
  5. Violent extremism. Do not support, praise or recruit for terrorist or violent extremist organisations.
  6. Unlawful content. Do not post anything that is unlawful, including anything listed in clause 9.1 of our Terms of Service.
  7. Synthetic media. Do not share deceptive AI-generated or manipulated images, audio or video of real people or events, or synthetic intimate imagery of anyone.

4. Respect privacy

  1. Do not share anyone's private information, such as their address, phone number, identity documents, financial details or health information, without their permission.
  2. Do not share other people's unpublished work, drafts or private messages without their permission.
  3. Treat private Live Rooms as confidential and share room codes only with the people the owner wants to admit.
  4. Do not record, screenshot or republish private content in a way intended to embarrass or expose someone.

5. Respect intellectual property

Only post what you have the right to post. Quote and cite responsibly. Our Copyright Policy explains how to report infringement.

6. Collaborate in good faith

  1. Owners decide. In a Live Room, the owner decides who edits and what goes into the research. Respect those decisions.
  2. Suggest constructively. Suggestions should aim to improve the work. Do not flood a room with suggestions, or use suggestions to harass or advertise.
  3. Credit fairly. Do not claim credit for work that is not yours, or remove credit from others unfairly.

7. Keep the platform healthy

  1. Do not spam, including repetitive posts, bulk messages, unsolicited advertising or misleading links.
  2. Do not manipulate likes, follows, votes, views or rankings, or coordinate inauthentic behaviour.
  3. Do not create fake accounts, operate multiple accounts to mislead others, or create a new account to get around a suspension or ban.
  4. Do not scrape the Service or interfere with how it works.

8. Communities

Community owners and moderators may set additional rules for their communities, and may remove posts or ban members who break them. Community rules add to these Guidelines and cannot permit anything these Guidelines prohibit.

9. Direct messages

Direct messages must follow these Guidelines too. Do not send unsolicited bulk messages, and stop messaging someone who asks you to. You can block anyone who bothers you.

10. Reporting and enforcement

If you see something that breaks these Guidelines, report it using the report option in the Service, or email team@orbitsub.com. For urgent reports of intimate imagery or impersonation, see our Grievance Redressal Policy.

Breaking these Guidelines can lead to removal of Content, restriction of features, suspension or permanent termination of your Account, and, where the law requires, reporting to the authorities. Our Content Moderation Policy explains how we enforce these Guidelines and how to appeal.

These Guidelines are effective from 1 October 2026.
